Venus is one of the brightest objects visible from Earth, often appearing just before sunrise or after sunset, earning it the title Morning Star. Built almost entirely around intervals of 5ths, this gentle piece is intended to be taught initially by rote. Its flowing style makes it ideal for teaching by rote, developing good hand shape, listening skills and confident legato pedalling. Approximate level: Grade 1-2.
